When can we start?
From first contact to finalising plans should take a month but may take two. Whilst planning permission is not required the council needs to be notified of the prospective development. The speed of acknowledgement of this will vary from council to council.
When can we finish?
The week the money is placed in escrow the prefabrication can be approved. There is currently a 12 week lead time for this process. If Murphy’s Law comes into play you can look at a 6 week build time. If everything goes to plan we could be done and dusted in three weeks!
The prefabrication is key. Also there is no waiting for ‘wetworks’ to dry out before moving to the next stage – no concrete footings, mortar for the bricks and plaster.
First contact to finish should take around 6 months with only 3 or 4 weeks of disturbance at your house.
